Hello, my name is Jodi Herman, the 2026 Melha Shriners First Lady.
I’m proud to support the children who need the compassionate, wrap-around specialty care that Shriners Children’s™ has provided for more than 100 years, regardless of the familiy’s ability to pay or insurance status. Please consider making a tax deductable donation to my fundraising page.
You can join me in raising funds and awareness for The Most Amazing Care Anywhere™!
My project will support the Cranial Remolding Helmet Program, a program that provides specialized care for infants with head shape differences during the most critical time of early development.
These conditions are treatable, but for many families access to care can be a challenge. A single helmet costs families an average of $2000, and many are unaware that early intervention makes a lifelong difference. Our goal through this project is to provide 50 helmets for children who need them, easing financial burden while ensuring timely care.
Shriners Children’s New England is uniquely positioned to lead this effort, as the clinic works in partnership with the leading craniofacial surgeon in western Massachusetts and is equipped to care for up to 180 patients each calendar year. Their team delivers expert, compassionate, and non-invasive treatment tailored to each child.
A pivotal time for helmet therapy is between 4 and 6 months of age, when a baby’s skull is most responsive to gentle guidance, however care can begin as early as birth up to 12 months old, ensuring that no child is left without options.
This program does more than reshape heads, it reshapes futures, relieves parental anxiety, and gives children the opportunity to grow and thrive with confidence.
By choosing this as my First Lady’s Project I commit to advocating for early intervention, expanding access to care, and supporting families during one of the most important chapters of their child’s life.
Together we can ensure that every child has the chance to grow strong, healthy, and full of possibility.
